Women in Italian Design

Veneta Cucine
“Women in Italian Design”, exhibition at the Triennale Design Museum in Milan from 2nd April 2016 to 19th February 2017, proposes a new interpretation of Italian design. This ninth edition, curated by Silvana Annicchiarico and with the installation design by Margherita Palli, examines the delicate issue of “gender”, a journey through 650 investigations of many famous women designers and young designers. The exhibition traces a new history of feminine Italian, reconstructing the figures, theories, and approaches to design that were sown in the twentieth century and that have established themselves, transformed and evolved in the twenty-first century with a new visions of younger creatives.

Among these creative women, Maddalena Selvini and Sandra Faggiano are two designers who put at the center of their projects the “unique piece”; they create small limited series, where the research is always present.

Some of their objects were on display of Veneta Cucine stand at Eurocucina 2016.

PAN 999

Veneta Cucine
PAN 999 is the collection of pots designed by Tobia Scarpa and Afra, produced by San Lorenzo.

A search began in 1992 that tries to combine the best of two metals that reinforce each other: pure iron on the outside and pure silver inside. The iron upgrades all the properties of silver so the result is a collection of bactericidal pots, recyclable with a simple design, that can be also washed in the dishwasher. Silver is the best conductor of heat among all metals and it spreads heat in a uniformed manner, in addition it allows a quick cooking of the food even at low temperature, preserving the antioxidant properties and nutritional values of the food. Its use is good for security; it has a strong powerful disinfectant, does not evaporate and remains unchanged.

Also used by Veneta Cucine, silver is the base of BBS® Bacteria BlockerSilverguard, mark that identifies the antibacterial treatment based on silver ions to which the laminates and the surfaces of the coatings are subjected, with the effect of reducing by 99.9% the proliferation of bacteria.
